Icarus Airlines

Terms of Service

By reading this page, you have already agreed.

Terms may be amended at any time, retroactively. Your continued existence constitutes acceptance.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing a ticket, boarding an aircraft, looking at an aircraft, or thinking about an aircraft operated by Icarus Airlines ("The Airline," "We," "The Entity"), you agree to be bound by these Terms in perpetuity or until Atmospheric Reentry, whichever comes first.

2. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that altitude is a spectrum and that gravity is a strong suggestion. The Airline makes no guarantees regarding the structural integrity of any components described by third parties as "wax-based." All flights are conducted on an "as-is, where-is, whenever-possible" basis.

The passenger further acknowledges that Icarus Airlines operates at the outer edge of what atmospheric physics will permit, and that such operation entails risks that conventional insurance products cannot price.

3. Definitions

Terms used throughout these agreements are governed by the Corporate Glossary. The following definitions are provided here as a convenience and are not exhaustive:

"Flight"
Any period during which the aircraft is not in contact with a solid surface, including planned, unplanned, and "we'll see" scenarios.
"Destination"
The location at which the aircraft ceases forward momentum. This may or may not coincide with the location printed on your boarding pass.
"Safety"
A concept we take very seriously, in the abstract.
"Controlled Altitude Reduction"
Any descent conducted with greater urgency than the flight plan originally specified. This term supersedes colloquial alternatives.
"Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly"
A structural event in which the aircraft occupies multiple locations simultaneously. Classified under Atmospheric Reentry Events.
"Involuntary Disembarkation"
Passenger or crew exit conducted outside standard deplaning procedures. Typically through non-doorway apertures.
"Legacy Arrival Designation"
A passenger status assigned when a trip concludes in a manner outside the standard "departed-arrived" binary. Triggers Customer Legacy Team outreach within 48 hours.

4. Liability

Icarus Airlines' total liability per passenger shall not exceed the value of one (1) complimentary in-flight beverage, regardless of event classification, jurisdiction, or emotional distress.

In the event of a Controlled Altitude Reduction, Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly, or other Atmospheric Reentry Event, passengers waive all claims in exchange for the aforementioned beverage, a commemorative t-shirt (if recoverable), and a Survivor's Rebooking Credit valid on future Icarus Airlines flights only.

5. Pre-Boarding Risk Acknowledgement

The Pre-Boarding Risk Acknowledgement executed at check-in governs everything. It cannot be revoked. It applies retroactively. It extends to your estate, your heirs, and — subject to our ongoing legal research — their heirs.

6. The Olympian Aviation Authority

Icarus Airlines operates under the authority of the Olympian Aviation Authority (OAA), a regulatory body we founded, fund, and staff. The independence of the OAA from Icarus Airlines is maintained through rigorous internal firewalls that have never been audited.

7. Amendments

These terms may be amended at any time, retroactively, and without notice. Your continued existence constitutes acceptance of all amendments. Your non-continued existence constitutes acceptance of the applicable portions.

8. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Corporate Glossary, the Pre-Boarding Risk Acknowledgement, and any amendments enacted during or after your flight, constitute the entire agreement between you and Icarus Airlines. All prior understandings, written or spoken, aloud or internal, are superseded.
